Janine is a 2008 graduate of Bryant University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Communication. As a member of the Bryant Softball team, she was a vital part of the pitching staff for four years. Some highlights from her college career include:
Throughout her career, Janine has gained an exceptional amount of knowledge of the mechanics of pitching and what it takes to be successful at the college level. She has a passion for the game, and hopes to pass on her experience to the younger players.
Jessica Valentini is a graduate of Bryant University and Immaculate Heart Academy located in Bergen County, New Jersey . At IHA she was a four year varsity player, having started her freshman year as a designated hitter, but moved into the starting role at third baseman by the end of the year. She was a three-time First Team All- League player and three time All- County honorable mention. In Jessica's four years at IHA, her team won one state title and two county championships. At Bryant University, Jessica was a four year varsity member, and senior captain. The team made four NCAA tournament appearances and four NE-10 Conference Championship appearances, winning it in 2006. The Bryant Bulldog*s third baseman ended her career with a .324 batting average, and is also in the Bryant record books for hits, walks, RBIs, slugging percentage and home runs.
Keri is a 2002 graduate of Fairfield University and as a member of the Fairfield University Softball team, she was a four year starter and significant part of the team's success. Fairfield qualified for the MAAC softball tournament all four years Keri was on the team. At the Division I level, Keri was a versatile player known for her pitching, hitting and outfield abilities. Keri was named a 2002 All MAAC conference all-star with a .303 batting average and voted a 2002 NCAA All American Scholar Athlete. Keri was a member of the Ashland High School Varsity Team and led Ashland High to their first and second Massachusetts State champion titles in 1996 & 1998 as the team pitcher, outfielder and DH.
For the past 6 years Keri has brought her skills and experience into coaching. Keri has worked as the head softball instructor at Extra Innings batting cage giving private lessons and clinics. She was the pitching coach at Bryant University in 2002 and Watertown High School in 2004. Keri has also worked at numerous Fairfield University Nike Softball Camps and various clinics since her collegiate years.
Mimi Drozd started at 3rd base for Bentley University where she earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in marketing. In high school she was a four year varsity starter at 3rd base for The Hun School in Princeton, NJ where she earned a spot on the First-Team Mid-Atlantic Prep League. Mimi posted the lowest defensive error percentage and earned the Iron Woman Award for attending every practice and game all four years.
Katie Hall is a graduate of Saint Anselm College and Holliston High School. Katie started her freshman year for the Holliston panthers as the designated hitter and then moved into the starting pitcher position her sophomore year where she accumulated a 63-9 record. She set the Holliston High School records for most wins and most strikeouts (575+). She had eight no hitters and batted a cumulative .450. She was a three time Tri- Valley League All-star and won the league MVP both her junior and senior years. She was named All-scholastic both by the Boston Herald and Boston Globe her junior and senior years. Her most prestigious award came her senior year of High School where she was named the Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the year. Katie graduated from Holliston High and played at Saint Anselm College where she played her freshman and sophomore year and was named Female Athlete of the Year her sophomore year.
Julie is a 2000 graduate of Assumption College, where she was a starting pitcher and first baseman for the Greyhounds. In 1999 and 2000, Julie was named an NCAA Division II All-American first baseman, as well as a Northeast-10 Conference All-Star. Julie was the 1999 NCAA Division II National Batting Champion, holding the best batting average in all of Division II softball that year. She was named team MVP as well as ECAC tournament MVP her junior year, and helped lead her team to the Northeast-10 tournament championship her senior year.
Julie was a four-year varsity starter at Ashland High School, spending most of her time on the pitching mound. Her proudest high school moment was winning the Division III state championship her senior year. Julie was named the Tri-Valley League MVP her sophomore, junior, and senior years.. She was named to the Metrowest Daily News All-Star team as well as the The Boston Globe and The Boston Herald All-Scholastic Teams. She was named 1996 Division III Player of the Year by The Boston Globe.
Julie has been the head varsity softball coach at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, MA since 2008, and she has years of experience working at various camps and clinics. Julie is very excited to join the Bay State staff.
